I loved it at the time. It was the first of the tragic expectations of a woman growing up in the South. I totally identified with some of the pressures and the secrets that must be ignored. However, I have read better and more insightful. But...it was my first. That is always worth remembering.
This book taught me what I THOUGHT I needed to know about being an architect: Slash the lines down on paper and throw it at an engineer and say, "Here, I drew it, YOU make it stand up." I went to architecture school based on that presumption, survived the math and physics courses, and that's why I love architecture to this day - and am a book author by profession.
