A very interesting read, if somewhat depressing because of the subject matter. It's the story of a woman who wants to bring about Middle East Peace through the emancipation of women, resulting in civil war. Yet another failure by the US government. The story was told in a semi-comic fashion, but the comedic prose could not mask the grimness of the subject matter. There were very vivid descriptions of decapitations, lapidations, and lacerations all given as punishment for absurd infractions. I'm not sure if that's realistic or not. Would have like to see + character development with main characters.
I read this book long time ago. This book might be slightly dated today. However, it is one of the most unbiased books I have ever read on life in India. Interesting.
