Bu kitaptan gerçekten keyif aldım. Yazar ana karaktere çok güçlü ve eşsiz bir ses veriyor. Bu kitaptan önce, otistik bir çocuk hakkında okuduğum tek kurgu işi To Kill a Mockingbird'dü (ve Boo Radley hikayeye gizemden başka bir şey eklemedi). Aslında otizmin sesini duymak (Mark Haddon'un otistik çocuklarla geniş bir deneyime sahip olduğunu anlıyorum) kitabı okumak için yeterince iyi bir sebepti, ancak arsa da oldukça ilgi çekici ve taze. ** spoiler alert ** This is the best love story I've ever read, better than The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and Message in a Bottle. It's written by Nicholas Sparks, an author know for its tragic story-enders... But this novel differed from the tragic-ending stories. It ended happily, and it is super romantic. It was somehow unpredictable for me because I was really glued into the story that I didn't realize those tiny details that will give you hints of what the ending will be. It made me cry, well, just once, and then it made me feel that love really is powerful. There are so many romantic scenes here, romantic deeds of the guy to the girl, of the husband to his wife, and it's just so sweet. I guess I will play the scenes I imagined form reading this over and over again... This is just so great! You must read this one... It's a 2 thumbs up, and it's really great, I assure you... The love story everyone's been dreaming of...
It has taken me a while to decide what I truly think of this book. At first, I thought I liked it. The more i thought about it though, I decided I didn't. It does capture some of the horror of WWII and the Nazi regime. It is dark but it offers no hope, no triumph. The current day characters were unlikable. The Secret Holocaust Diaries is a much, much better book. Better yet, it is true.
