I learned that it takes 412 pages before the main character shows up. And that I barely remember half these characters and the events they're referring to, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit down and read the whole series for like the 5th time. Would a synopsis or something at the beginning of the book to refresh our memories kill the author? It worked for Stephen King's Dark Tower series... So I finally finished this and it was enh. It was better than the worst books of the series in that some major events happen, but nothing to write home about. Perrin saves Faile, Mat marries Tuon... but it all seems rote and like he's just trying to wrap things up now. I'll keep reading these books as long as they come out, just to find out what happens, but this series doesn't hold a candle to other major fantasy series. BTW, I've always wanted to share this with other Wheel of Time fans but none of my friends are nerdy enough to get it... wouldn't it be awesome if Rand, Elayne, Min, and Aviendha had a fourway?! They would all be feeling each other's emotions and shit!! I don't know who Jordan is fooling, because you know that in real life this is the first thing Rand would've asked the girls as soon as he bonded them. "So ladies... we're all a happy family here..." Hehehe ;)
