This was actually a very interesting and well written book about human nature, prejudice, and the nature of evil. Interestingly, the author originally wanted to write about evil and was going to write about Hitler, but decided that was too morbid. The closest personification of pure evil he could think of was the Wicked Witch of the West. The Hitler/WWII comparison is made very clear throughout, though. Not exactly what you think of when you think of the Wizard of Oz.
** spoiler alert ** I thought the entire book was engaging and extremely entertaining to read. I loved the humor and the characters were so well put together you can't help but want to actually know every single one of them,even the evil villainess Patra.
