This is a great story about the trial of a sixteen year old boy involved in a murder. It is in the format of a movie he is writing about his own story, and his notes. I learned much about the way a trial is run and about the true horrors of prison. It was a very interesting and unique book to read, and taught me many facts. I encourage young adults to read it.
I enjoy things written in "vignettes." As a person who fancies herself a story maker-upper, I have a good deal of respect for the structure of Connell's Bridge novels. On one hand, it's easier to partition events into these scenes, but to weave it together -- that's some good making-upping.
