Good characters. My 2nd favorite Irving book. He's a weird dude, though.
I finished this book a few weeks ago and really liked it. It's in the same vein as Freakonomics and very interesting. I really liked the whole birthday/hockey analysis and what he had to say about the Asian numbering system and how that translates to being better in math. Anyway, a bunch of random scenarios and broken down in scientific ways.
This is an old favorite of mine. Somebody made a Musical called "Pipe Dream", based loosely on the characters of the book. Never saw it, but have heard it's good. I found it a mad, sad, sunny, funny book. Read it!
