Another book my father read to us that I later reread as an adult (in 2002 I bought it on a whim while in Boston with a friend and started reading it on the train home). I love how this story constantly plays with words like "jumping to conclusions" and "subtraction soup" and "eating your words". It is a simple adventure story of a boy trying to get home who saves a world in the process. Entertaining for both kids and adults.
