First off, I need to warn you that the author of this book, John Perkins, is a horrible writer and you will want to puke goat chunks after reading his past deeds. He also can't quite figure out if he should portray his dirty deeds as if he were a spy or just the unethical money hungry smarmy bastard he truly is. But, it is the deeds and the events that take place that will keep your interest and have you questioning the real purpose behind the government, the World Bank, IMF, and many other institutions many consider to be in the business of alleviating poverty...but are they?. Don't buy the book. Check it out from the library or borrow it from a friend. I wouldn't want my money going to this man who is nothing more than an profiteer of the poor.
