I really enjoyed this book. I love history, and when I bought this, I read the blurb on the back cover, but none of the reviews. I thought it would be a straight-forward fact book about Lady Jane Grey. It's probably the best historical fiction book I've read to date. Alison Weir did a wonderful job of using the facts as she has researched them all of her life and putting them into this fictional account of how Grey became Queen of England for nine days. I was moved at the end of the book to the point of tears running down my face thinking of how it would be to go through what this 16 yr old did and facing the end that came to her.
did not finish. kinda felt like i got the jist of it, though. there is a way to be objective about LDS history without demeaning women. thanks for nothing, wallace stegner. I can happily say now that no, wallace is NOT named after you.
