I read this in high school and it affected me in a very powerful way. I don't agree with her politics at all but I do appreciate the depth of this novel and how demanding it is. I also find it very illuminating that a whole segment of American society fell in love with this book and it's ideas in the 40's and 50's. The very rich, conservative segment...what a shock.
Not as good as tender at the bone, but still worthwhile.
