I finally got around to reading this book and it was a lot of fun, especially Bourdain's reminiscences about the food world of the '60s, '70s and '80s, where even in New York City, American food was apparently quite crappy. He runs a little wild with his Hunter S. Thompson-esque prose, but all in all, a lively and interesting read.
