The love between the father and son in this book moved me...I wish I knew their names. I read this in one sitting and though it was bleak and grim, I couldn't look away. I kind of want to curl into the fetal position and weep now. I think the human soul can survive almost anything if they are with someone they love. That being said, I do not want to survive a global catastrophe just to live the life of "The Road". My dear friend told me years ago that she wants cyanide pills for each member of her family in case something like this happens...it seemed barbaric at the time, but after reading this book I feel myself strongly drawn to her logic. I never never never want to watch my child starve....
