Started strong (sex life of corn and its relationship to modern agriculture -- can't get more surprisingly bizarre and intriguing than that). Stayed strong mostly (especially the explanation of a well-run farm can be this amazing self-contained ecosystem). But unfortunately ended with a fizzle leaving me with high annoyance (not really interested in his struggles to come to grips with his own sense of enlightened masculinity in the face of a boar hunt... yawn).
Gives an entirely alternate perspective than the typical history we all learned in school. The question is: Is it any more accurate, or simply just biased in another direction? Either way, it's certainly thought-provoking and well worth a look.
