I read this book once a year, usually when I'm feeling a bit blue and want something warm and comforting. I'm a sucker for a well-written, epic novel, and this one delivers. Pilcher's descriptions of Cornwall are tantalizing, and she somehow makes WW2 era England seem cozy and romantic.
