I didn't get this book. Couldn't identify with its characters. Couldn't figure out what in the world was going on. There was a little bit of hope when Atwood revealed why it was called Surfacing, but then it was downhill again from there. The self-discovery and sense of peace and understanding that was created quickly spiraled back into insanity. If it were me, I would rename the book Submersing. I didn't even get the ending. I wish Atwood had spelled it out for my feeble little brain.
