This is a BBC rendition of the Hobbit for radio. It was a lot of fun to listen to on my way to and from work. It is easy to understand why radio drama was such a big deal. In many ways I enjoyed it more than watching a show on television.
Yay, Australian football, which I knew nothing about, but was intrigued by. The sport never overpowered the story. I love stories in which setting plays a big part, as Australia does here and I love the Australian spellings and language. I like stories about people who are basically forced to be closeted, and how both they and their uncloseted partners handle it. I liked seeing so many details of their relationship, but sometimes the bickering and fighting (including the same with some of the secondary characters) got tiring. This was a long book, and I think it would've been better if it had been tightened up by maybe 20% or so.
