This "fake" history of America scared me, in a good way. It is too easy to take for granted the freedom we have in the USA. This book showed how easily it can slip away, one freedom at a time, starting with how we treat ethnic minorities. However, like others have said here, it did seem to move too slowly at times and become repetitive, and I was disappointed in the ending. It never quite delivered in its insanely scary premise (American goes Nazi!). I still believe everyone should read it because rarely do most novels make you think about topics like this as much as this one did, despite its flaws.
I wrote it :-)
