Yazı stili çok kafa karıştırıcı

Bu kitap gerçekten keyif aldım. Ana karakter iyi yazılmış ve kolay ilişkilidir.

İlk Jodi Picoult romanım ... gerisi iyi mi? Onu sevdim. Ne harika bir hikaye. Kitap boyunca koltuğumun kenarındaydım. Kitaplarının geri kalanını okuyacağım.

Muhteşem tempolu - sadece gelmeye devam etti. Ayrıca karakter gelişimi harikaydı. Okuyucunun fikirleri farklı açılardan görmesini ve hissetmesini sağladı. Genç okuyucu için mükemmel!

Reread 12/12 Amazingly, my thoughts are exactly the same for this book since the first time I read it. I think I get the story more, but this book seriously lacks any excitement. ** some spoilers ** Initial thoughts: This is a book you'll either really like, or feel disappointed. If you have expectations before you read the book, I tell you the best thing to do is empty your mind...don't expect anything, and you won't be disappointed. This is more of a deep character sketch of Cassia, Ky and a few new characters. Besides Ky and Cassia (and a very, very brief appearance of Xander), none of the characters from Matched are in this part of the story. Lots of inner monologue, introspection and decision making. Tons of back story is filled in, mostly that of Ky. But at least the author fills in a tiny bit of the history of why people would 'inexplicably' choose to live in a Society like this...Free from sickness, fear, poverty, crime and danger, but with absolutely no freedom at all. You find out a little more about the Outer Provinces too. How can people be expected to grow and to yearn for better things if everything were easy? How do you know true joy unless you have experienced a little bit of depths of loss or sadness? Those things make us human, make us stronger. But this elusive Enemy. Who are they? You might know by the end, or just guess who it is, as I have. Crossed...as in, 'I'm at a crossroads between life and death. Love and losing that love forever. Safety and danger.' By the end of the book, the characters will have crossed so many of those lines. Crossed, also as in a journey. Boy, do they journey. Not a thrilling action packed story. Maybe it's my mood, and the things happening in my life at the moment, but this was a perfect book to match it. I liked this leg of the story better than Matched by far.

I would say this is the best book I read in 2006. I thought I had seen it all when it came to WW2 era stories, but this one, from the beginning, was different. A WW2 book from the POV of a German girl, narrated by Death? I dare you not to pick it up, based on the premise alone. You are told how it ends, right from the first chapter but I was still shocked and heartbroken when I neared the end of the book.
