I liked this book, but did not love it like I did Huck Finn when I read that in 10th grade. The story was entertaining, but it didn't touch me in a deeper place like Huck Finn did. I remember staying up "late" at night writing summaries and commentaries for this book (which is an assignment my students do now). I remember that late would be when on Kiss 108 they would play a new song for people to call in and say if they liked it or not, of course it had a more clever name than that though.
