although I usually love ian mcewan, it took me forever to get through this very small book. I think it's supposed to be dramatic, thought-provoking and intense, but I found it kind of boring. although I really enjoyed reading the detailed scenes of neurosurgery, I didn't care much about the surgeon himself and his thinly drawn family. oh well. I'm not giving up on mcewan yet, just approaching the next book with caution.
This is a good book not one of the best in the series ive seen better harry potters i still continued to read it and i like it!
