Nick Horrigan is having trouble sleeping at night. He keeps reliving his step-father's death. A death he feels responsible for. Nick's father was a Special Agent who was privy to information that put him in mortal danger. Nick is lured away from his home and shuts off the securty system. He comes back to find his Dad dying and tring to tell him something. Nick is told that he is in danger and is told to relocate until the situation blows over. Nick returns home and becomes embroiled in a hostage situation at a nuclear power plant. A friend of his father has asked for him and before his death gives Nick a key. In trying to find out the secret of the key, Nick finds it only leads to problems and has something to with an upcoming Presidential campaign. Nick finds himself on the run from just about everybody and has few people he can turn to for help. The two Presidential candidates are both vying for the information Nick has, and are using their influence to turn him to their side. He is being pursued by several factions but is not sure who they work for. Nick finds that the information he is seeking holds the key to what happened to his father on th fateful night of his murder. Does Nick want to continue his quest, not knowing if the answers will help his situation. A good thriller with enough twists and turns to make you head spin. You may want to make sure you stay on top of this one, not everything seems to be as it seems.
Great book. Ifill explores the issues clearly and explains cogently. She responds to a lot of the wonderings I've had in the past year or so about race and politics and where we are now. Excellent book, very well written.
A quick 15 minute pick me upper, if you are feeling low, just get this out and you will be on your way. I love President Uchtdorf and he always makes me feel happy after I listen to him or read what he has written.
