this is the best bodice-ripper i've ever read. despite the fact that it's sort of a cheesy book about impossibly exotic and beautiful aristocracy and the problems of the upper class, it's lovely. the best romance novel ever ready, with some great juicy scenes. good for traveling.
A nice whodunnit set in the Cotswolds with a mixed range of suspect villagers. Local stalwart Hope Mapple causes havoc when she streaks at a 'do' to launch the opening of a posh country house hotel but then a body is found... I've read, and enjoyed, other 'Chief Inspector Markby and Meredith Mitchell' books though their relationship in this one did seem to lack a bit of spark.
