The only thing I liked about this book were the snippets of information about life in Sydney back in the early days of settlement and how little the early settlers knew or wanted to know about the indigenous people. It dragged along like the a slow moving river, that might have been a better title.
This was a slog for me until about page 300. Then it finally became a page-turner. But overall, it just felt a little too long-winded, and took too much of an investment of time to get to too little a payoff.
I haven't read much by Patterson but after this book I definitely will. It was interesting from start to finish and I could not put it down. Non stop action and changes to the story. I couldn't wait to see how it all unfolded and there was no way that I could ever have guessed the outcome. A definite read for anyone who likes a fast moving, intriguing story.
