Two different stories running side by side. On one side a young American girl is murdered by the drug cartel in CanCun, at the same time a young mexican girl has been smuggled into the U.S. under the assumption they they would aid her in finding work, however she was kept in a trailer along with other young girls and was made to be a prostitute, also by the drug cartels. Interesting stories, just a little to unbelievable as an American woman and her former lover stepped in to just about single handed take out some of the top cartel.
This is my between-books "palate cleanser." It's pretty good. I picked it up because the author is Midwestern -- represent.
the first book i have read by virginia woolf, and also the first that relies on the stream of consciousness technique. it definitely took me 50 pages or so to get into it - they felt a bit frustrating and annoying - but then i did really start enjoying the language. and even though almost nothing happens, from the start i just felt compelled to read on. i'm glad i picked it up and am excited to read sth else by virginia woolf.
