Sanırım bu benim okuduğum ilk (ve bu noktaya kadar) sadece John Irving romanım olabilir. Kızım Clare'nin John Irving'e olan sevgisi göz önüne alındığında, eminim daha fazlasını okuyacağım. Hareketli, düşündürücü bir hikaye.

I'm not generally a crafty person, but I decided that I wanted to make myself a t-shirt for the upcoming Nightwish concert. Also, that I didn't want it to be just any regular t-shirt. This book had several awesome sew and no-sew projects that turn ordinary t-shirts into all sorts of things. I chose design 18 "ties to die for" and it came out rather well. I think this would be an awesome book to pick a few projects from and do as a teen program. :)
This is the story of Doc Holliday, and of Wyatt Earp while they knew each other in Dodge City, Kansas. It goes back to Doc's childhood and how he wound up in Dodge. It goes back a little bit into Earp's childhood. Then it talks about what happened to them in Dodge City--how they got to be friends, the year or two that transformed them into the legends they became. It even takes half a chapter to talk about "what if" in Doc's life--what if he'd married there in Kansas and hadn't gone on to Arizona. It was an interesting story--makes Holliday and Earp more of who they really were and not so much what the dime novels said. Just guys trying to make a life and get a little bit ahead. I enjoyed it-but not sure I'd want to read much else like it any time soon.
