I was slightly disappointed in this one... Normally, I love King's short story collections, but this one just didn't quite click with me. Of the four stories, I quite enjoyed the first and third, stories about a man who kills his nagging wife and tries to cover it up, and a story about a man who makes a deal with the devil. The first story is suspensful, carrying more than it's fair share of chills, while the third is darkly funny. However, the other two stories are about rape, which for obvious reasons is not a subject I find all that enjoyable. I know that Stephen King books have a history of this sort of horror-through-sexuality, but it's still not something I like focusing on this much. I can't give it a whole-hearted recommendation, but if you're a King fan, it's worth reading.
I picked this up at Goodwill (love getting books for a buck or two). It is the story of a little boy born with AIDS in south Africa who eventually unoficially adopted by a white lady who created homes where those dying of AIDS could have a safe haven.
