Overall I really enjoyed this, the second book in the Rose Trilogy. Similar to the Tea Rose, it drew me in to another time and place. I loved the romance between wealthy and gifted female doctor India Selwyn Jones and the head of East End London crime gang Sid Malone. What a fantastic contrast between these two characters backgrounds and position in life - it lent itself to some very passionate moments! My only comment in the negative would be that the story was quite long and didn't carry itself quite as strongly as the Tea Rose in some parts. It felt at times that the author was trying to fit so much in and yet there was too much of a lapse in interaction between the main characters to be fully satisfying. Anyway laying some frustration aside, it was a great story and a very enjoyable read that I would recommend.
The series is starting to drag out...
