Very funny. Enjoyed all of Chelsea's antics and escapades
As you read this, you'll marvel at how this incredible reformer could been fallen between the cracks of history.
I really enjoyed this book - the setting (post-war London in the 50's), the characters (everyone is a little more complex under the surface than you first think) and the story. Exactly my kind of book! :)
For being about baseball, the boringest of all the ball games (unless you focus on your beer and hot dog) and one I know very little about, it's pretty entertaining. I do like Bill Simmons.
I probably wouldn't have read this book if left to my own devices. It's the story of Aaron Lansky, the founder of the National Yiddish Book Center, an organization dedicated to saving Yiddish books. But my dad practically forced it into my hands and insisted that I read it. I have to admit, he was right. It's a fascinating story, alternately funny and sad, and touching in many places. Through the sheer force of his personality Lasnky has rescued over 1.5 million volumes of Yiddish literature. He's also led the charge to digitize these books, ensuring that they won't be lost to future generations. This book also touches on a lot of history. Highly recommended.
