2.5 stars This book had a lovely set up - the author is soo good at creating charming sweet little worlds with lovely characters - but the story and development of all these things needed a LOT more polishing. And the inclusion of the characters from the first book failed so badly. They were like cardboard cut-outs in this book, just terrible.
Good maps and some pictures of castles and manses of English Civil War. Also details of all of Cromwell's routes to battles.
A series of stories by the estimable Elizabeth Bear which total combine a play involving various poets from Keats through to Ginsberg after death as well as the devil Moloch, a Chinese myth set during (I think) one of the Sino-Japanese wars, the gods of Las Vegas fueding with the gods of Los Angeles, the survivor of Ragnarok, a classic high-noon western (with a twist of course), and a variety of other great stories. Obviously worth a read or two.
One of the best books ever period.
I thought this book was really good. It was very creative. A good ghost story without being full on horror, entertained me for about 2 days. I was glad to finish it, but wished it wouldn't end!
