At first, I didn't find this as intriging as "The Kite Runner," but ended up loving this book as much as "The Kite Runner." I still love the author's writing style. This story also broke my heart.
It started so well.. the suspense was palpable... I thought it would be one of those books that would not be able to read at night, in the house , on my own... I was gripped... and then... well, it turned into an elaborate tale that was so similar to 'Shaun of the Dead' that I lost the fear factor. I finished the book because I started it... and even the ending had that feeling of deja vue, in fact I'm convinced that I have read the final scenarios in another book; I wish I could remember where?!
