A great book for helping teachers to start using and teaching reading more effectively. It presents ways of dealing with texts that allow students to get far more out of their reading. This book is written for content teachers, but reading / English teachers will get plenty out of it as well, especially an understanding of reading in other classes.
This book shows clearly the women's role in Chinese culture around the 1050's 1960's.It reflects the strength that women had because they were able to form alliances with each other. It was heartfelt without being maudlin. Loved it!
This is the first Robert Crais book I've read and I enjoyed it. It is the third in Crais' series featuring Joe Pike, a former cop, sometime mercenary and friend of P.I. Elvis Cole, the main character in Crais' other series. After coming to the aid of a sandwich shop owner who is getting beaten by gang thugs, Pike soon finds out that not only the gang, but a Bolivian drug cartel and a psychopathic killer are on his trail.
