It took my a while to read this book – shame on me – but I finally got myself into reading it. Magic Bites is the first Kate Daniels book, set in an alternate Atlanta. Gosh, I fell in love with Kate and the worldbuilding. This review could take some time and it's going to be in English only – Although I read it in German and English (yes I did – Most of times I read the German novel, but when sentences seemed to be badly translated or very significant I switched to the English one). As I said, Magic Bites takes us into an alternate Universe. It's in the future, somehow, if I got it right.. But it doesn't really feel like that, because it's got a little bit of an apocalyptic feeling. (Like everything's a mess and you need to kill your dog to get something to eat.. No, kidding.) The world's dominated by constant changes – And I'm talking about pregnant behaviour-constant not the choice of your favorite color. Basically in one instant technology dominates the world and in the next, magic takes over. Try tweeting then, buddy. The guys:There are werewolves and wolfweres, crazy worms (Buffy Season 7, yay!), vampires and many more. But unlike other Urban Fantasy novels, this one changes the rules. Vampire's aren't your nice, sexy boys next door. They're (..) - http://www.bookexhibitionism.de
