Even though I loved A Farewell to Arms, I hated this book. I just couldn't get into the story or characters, even though there was a love story. I will say that my teacher didn't clearly communicate his expectations of when the book had to be finished, which is a huge part of the reason I didn't finish it. This is the only book I looked at SparkNotes for in high school, but I don't think I even had enough time for that since I was sharing them with a friend during the school day. My clearest memories of this book are: 1) trying to read the Spark Notes in the dark room and 2) "the Earth moved."
