A wonderfully conceived, unusual story. Though well written, the writing itself is not so impressive as the richly realized story; the story of an unusual boy, his remarkably strong, complex and flawed family, and the exceptional dogs they breed. A great book for young adults, I assume it will be on many school reading lists around the country.
