The best living short story writer.
I think I read this in high school ... discovered Campbell via Lovecraft. Like most of his short stories, this is creepy, atmospheric, almost oppressive in its grimness. I think short fiction is more his natural form, but this worked well for a longer piece.
With this volume and the previous one, I can definitely see what all the fuss is about.
