If I was the kind of reader who enjoys crying through 30 pages of pain and loss as though it were my own, I'd have given this 5 stars. I wish I hadn't read it. My eyes still keep welling up. I'll be steering well clear of heart-wrenching stories that are this well-written and have protagonists that feel so terribly real.
