Definitely a classic, and hardly something I can criticize! I read this (in English) for a Spanish Literature course, and I mostly enjoyed it. The elements of magical realism were occasionally beautiful, and there are still lines and stories that I remember now, years later. Keep in mind that the book is a legit tome. It's hundreds of pages long, and I found it easy to get lost towards the end, with characters and stories appearing and disappearing all the time. It's a pleasant, if meandering, journey, and good to pick up and read from time to time. Appreciate it for its distinctive style and cultural status.
