Eye-opening. It definitely changed [or reinvigorated] my idea of what books could be and how well an author could tell a story [perhaps how well authors SHOULD tell stories]. It's the kind of book you can get lost in, do get lost in, and should get lost in. It's more about the excavation and exploration and then at last, the final realization as the puzzle comes together. It's not about the continuation of the stories that seem to end just when they're getting good, but about the bigger picture that Calvino continues to paint throughout.
