I want to like these books more than I have; but that might be the fault of listening to them on audio. The narrator is adequate but either my mind wanders too much during her readings (not a usual problem for me with audio--but her various accents were kind of distracting) or the book isn't written clearly enough for me; either way I lose track of what's going on and feel like I have missed plot connections and things along the way. In this sequel, there's a lot of chasing after the Glove of Sapphique, which may or may not be a magical item, and characters express wanting to escape from Incarceron but also don't want to leave it. I was confused. And I didn't get much from the romance. Does she want to marry Finn or not? Your mileage may vary, as they say. I'm just not sure if I'll read a third book if it turns out to be a trilogy (I'll definitely not listen to it on audio!), though it seemed to end pretty decisively.
