I probably should have had therapy for existential depression after reading this book. He may be right on several levels and I certainly don't deny the facts, but please don't make this the first peak oil book you read. The Long Descent is a much better primer. Then again, if you're looking to get through the stages of grief over the decline of everything connected to oil very quickly, this would probably catapult you through denial, anger, bargaining and depression all in one book. But it won't get you to acceptance. The Long Descent, The Transition Handbook, and The Transition Timeline are better at that because they actually provide constructive guidelines for living with the predicament.

One of my favorites! A fictional romance about the building of the Taj Mahal, this is one of the most eloquently written novels I've ever read. Descriptive and poetic, it transports you to a time of innocence, opulence, love, loyalty, betrayal, and war.
