Dan and I read this aloud quite quickly and really enjoyed it. It was pretty depressing but makes you think about how you treat others, especially those closest to you.

The book I last read was Charlaine Harris’ All Together Dead. I have to say that I didn’t like this book as much as the other Sookie Stackhouse novels but it was well written and had a good plot. I didn’t like it as much because it was a little too busy for me. It was really hard to keep up and follow all of the people that are brought into the story. I think Harris’ attempt at making the story a little more of a mystery detective story was good, just wasn’t my style. The plot of the story began with a huge gathering of vampires called a summit. This summit was put together to deal with all of the vampires’ lawsuits at once, like a court convention. I think that’s what made it to where I didn’t quite like it as much because I just don’t favor politics. But other than my dislike it was a well thought out story with many, many details and characters. The characters in this book were fantastically created. I will say that they were interesting to read about, that they were greatly, creatively created, but there were just too many for my liking. If it had been a bit slower pace I think I would have enjoyed it more, but with it being a huge summit it was just a little too much all at once. But again Harris put a LOT of thought into creating this huge plot and I continue to give her tremendous credit. Other than the political detective type story, and the busyness, it was ok. I think another reason why I didn’t enjoy it as much was because I had a lot going on and couldn’t remember all of the information thrown from the book. It was well organized and I liked some of the twists in the plot. I would only recommend this to a very few, certain people. I would recommend this book to people who like mysterious detective type stories, but also who like the supernatural kind of books. If you can handle a lot of information constantly then you wouldn’t have a problem reading All Together Dead. I would also only recommend this to people who have been reading the series because if you have not read books 1-6 it could be really confusing. All together I would have to say even though I personally didn’t like it; it was still written by a good author. I think it took a lot to plan out something like the plot of this book. I hope to finish this series and maybe try out other books by Harris. I think Harris deserves great credit for her works and I hope other people pick up the Sookie Stackhouse series and enjoy it as I and many others have.

A classic of Haruki Murakami's, but I didn't find it to be better than The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. It lead me through the eyes of those that hardly have a grasp of sanity. But helped me understand the urges & struggles of human understanding & desires. Beautiful, & quite a smooth read.
