This book is about fossil hunting in England before Darwin, before any thought of the world being older than 6,000 years old. So the concept of extinct creatures was abhorrent to Christian doctrine. This juxtaposed with the fact that women were the fossil-finders makes it quite interesting. Of course, they were single (spinster) women so they had more freedom to be weird and quirky in their time. I liked the cadence and the exchange of points of view in the narrative.
Really liked her style--enjoyable to read and made a lot of sense.
