Jessup's current trial has to keep his first trial unmentioned, in chap.30 Bosch reads "prior sworn testimony" of the no-longer available detective Kloster and the jury is told not to concern itself with where the testimony originated. When they are done, the judge asks defense attorney Royce if he wants any of the defense's CROSS read into the record; doesn't "cross" indicate an initial trial? Disappointed w ending. A quick, unimaginaive wrap.

What a sweet little book! This is a lady after my own heart: a Roman Catholic nun, whose language and experience matches my own upbringing in the church, who has married the Church's doctrines and mysticism with those of the pagan or earth religions. This is something at which the church has excelled for centuries (chalices filled with blood/wine, incense lofted over the altar in the 4 directions of the wind, Easter/Ostara, Christmas/Yule, May Queen/Beltane). Sister Karol's first few chapters discuss her personal views on why we pray, how to pray, and how to set up a sacred space in your home to pursue your own prayer practice. The latter portion of the book is filled with charming "spells" and blessings for nearly every possible experience in one's life. None of the material in this book is new; however, the presentation is charming and strikes just the right tone for people like me who have been steeped in the Holy Roman Empire's superstitions yet seek a more logical, natural, and emotional (yes, all three!) approach to spirituality and worship. This underscores my belief that the true wealth of the church resides in its ordained women. Ah, what Rome is missing! Here, encapsulated in gorgeous paper, a cloth cover, and exquisite binding is a sample of exactly what.
Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment is a fantasy about six children striving to stay alive. Every page brings another horrifying adventure into their lives. These aren’t your average kids; they’re 98% human, and 2% bird. Believe it or not, the 2% makes a huge impact on the children’s lives. They have wings, super skills, and some of them have special abilities. Angel, the youngest of them, can read minds. At the beginning of the story, Angel is kidnapped by the Erasers. The Erasers are the evil scientists. They take her to The School a.k.a. the lab. Through a series of events the other five kids rescue Angel. While at the school, Angel learns something about each of their parents. When all of the kids were younger they were taken to The School. Their whole lives they have wondered if their parent wanted to give them up, what lives were told to their parents, and where their parents lived. Angel also says that there is a building in New York with more information on their parents. On their way, Max, the main character, is told she has to save the world. What will happen next? I thought this was an extremely interesting book. I loved how the characters were around the same age as me; I recommend this book to everyone.
Interesting story but a little bit flat. Reallya 3.5 start book for me.
