Ick... I'm the rare one that hated this book. My reasons are many, but I just didn't like it. The characters and situations were so refined and perfectly unusual that I almost felt that I could feel Kidd figuring out the characters' eccentricities just to make the story move. They didn't flow and their actions weren't believable and all of it seemed unaffected by the rest of the world. It seemed like a movie script in the making instead of a book. That said, I'm guessing that I'm not going to be a fan of the movie either. With Hollywood's routinely added syrup, the story will be unpalatable...
