Women are sorely neglected in our modern biblical learning. Fiction or not, this story gives us a glimpse into what life must have been like in the time before Christ.
I love historical fiction and this is one of the best that I've ever read. I loved the characters, their struggles, and the scenery of 14th century England. It was a beautifully written love story that chronicles the story of Katherine Swynford and the Duke of Lancaster. I just can't say enough good things about this story: it has love, murder, adultery, war, and betrayl. Very entertaining and historical all at the same time. I can't wait to read more of Anya Seton's other novels.
