I knew nothing about this novel, except the stars I had seen on Good Reads. I was wandering about in Goodwill on a late night. I saw the cover and snatched it up. The cover art is intense and one of the best in my opinion. It was half off of three dollars and it was brand new. This novel, narrated by a book lover, was someone I could strongly relate to. My mother asked me what it was about, and the only way I could describe this is that it's a story within a story within a story. It has a Gothic-esque quality to it, and it reminded me so much of V.C. Andrews' novels. I was absolutely and profoundly hooked. I completed this novel in three days (which is a short amount of time considering I go to school 15 hours and work 25 hours). I will not give this one up. It is a new favorite.
