Personally I'm shocked that this has earned over four stars. My EQ came out fairly high, not sure what that was all about, maybe all my recent self discovery, my religious/spiritual beliefs, maybe the many years I spent in the corporate world, and knowing how to answer some of those questions. I just don't know. There were some very useful suggestions throughout, especially in terms of realizing why it's important to hold back for a moment to let the emotions ride themselves out, while reasoning kicks in. Many of the examples were so clearly taken from the corporate world, and yet, this is marketed to all, so I think that's a bit of an issue. The authors need to make one of these that has examples and content that is more universally-based, OR one that would specifically target people running a small business, government, those self-employed, and academia. And while they're at it, they should replace some of the corporate jargon with actual English. One of the other reviewers had such an important point that the people that need a book like this may never read it. That stuck in my mind several times while reading. I do think if improvements are made, it may have a chance to actually reach those who do need it...
This might actually be the funniest book I ever read in my life.
