I read this book again with my 9 year old daughter and I loved it even more all these years later.
A little too much dotcom for my tastes but loved the story and loved the philosophy references. Kept reading the Hegel quotes to my husband. Relevant story line for reading the week prior to 9/11. I don't really see the Austen comparisons either, but enjoyed reading it, especially the second half of the book.
