Life-changing. Reading Goth Girl Rising was like reading my own 16-year-old diary. I haven't analyzed emotions and characters so much in a book ever. I did not read the Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl before reading it. I'm going to read that next. The writing of Lyga was fantastic. The mix of narration, poetry and letter writing was superb. My favorite part of the book was the letters to Neil Gaiman. It is just like an isolated teen to identify with an artist more than anyone else. I've got to read the Sandman GNs, now. I wasn't expecting much from this book b/c some of the reviews said it wasn't as good as the first one. As I didn't read the first book yet, I didn't have to compare them. I would recommend this book to anyone who has felt marginalized, lost or lonely.
lol it was funny how the main character acts
